LETS EXPLORE DESIGN SPACE
The design parameters of this cereal box are its width breadth and height.
Its performance is assumed to be its volume, advertisement area (one side of the box) and its stability (denoted by tilt angle or the angle beyond which the box will fall when tilted)
We use this box to illustrate both design space and performance space.
By using the scroll bars you can both set limits to the “search space” and also select “viable designs” according to the limits that you set on performance space.
So design is about navigating design spaces.
